2007 model year changes

The Toyota Prius, widely recognized as an icon of automotive efficiency, enters 2007 with a few equipment changes. A sporty new Touring Edition, which brings a European-tuned suspension, HID headlamps, and various appearance upgrades, is available for a modest premium. Also, front side air bags and full-length curtain air bags, which were previously optional, are now standard on both Prius models.

Special features for 2007

For space and fuel efficiency, the 2007 Toyota Prius can't be beat. The compact Prius has a design that emphasizes interior space and thus it qualifies as a mid-size car, and Toyota boasts that it ranks as the most fuel-efficient mid-size car in America. The new Touring Edition gives the Prius a sportier edge, and now with front side and side-curtain air bags standard across the line, Prius is an even better value.

A carry-over from 2006, the Prius is a four-door five-passenger car offered in both Base Liftback and Touring trim levels. The Prius is powered by a hybrid system that features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that works in conjunction with electric motors to achieve an estimated 60-MPG city and 51 highway. Both models have a variable speed automatic transmission.
