2007 model year changes

GMC increased the displacement and power of the Canyon's engine lineup for 2007. Instead of choosing between a 2.7L or a 3.5L powerplant, a 2.9L 185-horsepower four-cylinder or a 242-horsepower, 3.7L in-line five are available. In addition, a tire pressure monitor is now standard, and three new colors--Sport Blue, Midnight Blue Metallic, and Sonoma Red Metallic--update the Canyon's look. Warranty coverage is increased for 2007, with a new five-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty that's fully transferable and includes roadside assistance for the full period.

Special features for 2007

The 2007 GMC Canyon midsize pickup continues as a solid alternative to smaller compact models and full-size pickups. Two- and four-wheel drive are offered, as are a number of cab types and bed lengths, meaning the Canyon can be tailored to a variety of purposes. The Canyon's pricing is especially competitive, with the 2WD Regular Cab WT starting at $14,235 and the 4WD Regular Cab WT starting at $17,635.
A carry-over from 2006, the Canyon is a mid-size pick up truck offered in WT, SL and SLE trim, all with a 2.9Liter inline four-cylinder producing 185HP linked to a five-speed manual transmission with a four-speed automatic as an option, or the SLE 2 and SLE3 with a 3.7Liter inline five-cylinder that puts out 246HP. Available in regular, extended and crew cab configuration, in either two or four-wheel-drive.
