Cadillac's flagship Escalade luxury SUV is completely new for 2007, with an upgraded powertrain, improved ride and handling, a new, upgraded interior, and expanded safety features. The Escalade gains nearly 60 horsepower versus last year's model, with a unique 403-horsepower, 6.2L aluminum V8 with variable valve timing, delivering its power through a new six-speed automatic transmission. Cadillac also claims that the Escalade's V8 has the industry's first application of variable valve timing on a mass-produced V8 overhead-valve engine. Head curtain air bags with rollover protection now cover all three rows of seating.
Power and acceleration; controlled ride; interior space (ESV); safety; style statement.
The 2007 Cadillac Escalade stands out from its competitors with its powerful, 403-horsepower engine, plush interior appointments and entertainment options, and an interior design that is possibly the most opulent of any American-produced vehicle. The EXT also offers more luxury and comfort features, and makes more of a style statement, than nearly any other pickup truck available.
