Redesigned for 2007, the X5 is a four-door five-passenger SUV available with either the 3.0-liter I6 that produces 260 horsepower, or the 4.8-liter V8 that puts out 350. Both models come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission.Read more Read less
For 2007 the BMW X5 has been redesigned, but you'll have to look hard to notice it. No one complained about the previous X5 styling, so rather than a radical makeover, the 2007 X5 was expanded to make more room inside. The body panels were massaged in such a way, though, that the new X5 doesn't look any larger. You'll also find additional utility in the 2007 X5. There is now an optional third row of seats for a total of seven occupants. The rest of the interior is very elegantly designed, and abounds with quality touches. The six-speed automatic backs up both the 260-horsepower 3.0L six-cylinder engine and the stirring 350-horsepower 4.8L V8. The 4.4L V8 is no longer available.
Involved driving experience; more room for 2007; practicality and luxury.
The BMW X5 is an all-wheel-drive, luxury SUV for those who enjoy driving. It offers some of the best handling responses of any vehicle in its class, yet it doesn't skimp on luxury features. The X5 offers similar utility to the competition, too, but blows most of them out of the water when it comes to driving dynamics.
