For 2006, an all-new Cadillac flagship sedan includes many changes including the replacement of the DeVille nameplate with DTS. A DTS Performance package available with the sedan equips the vehicle with a 292-horsepower Northstar V-8 engine alongside 18-inch wheels and a Magnetic Ride Control suspension. Cadillac's high-performance V line receives two new members in 2006. Cadillac STS-V boasts a host of styling and performance upgrades with a 469-horsepower, supercharged V-8 serving as the vehicle's centerpiece. A similar aggressive premium treatment has also been used to upgrade the Cadillac XLR. A 443-horsepower engine dropped into the 2006 XLR-V allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds. The 2006 STS-V and XLR-V introduce Driver Shift Control as a component to the six-speed automatic transmission. The existing CTS-V receives an engine bored-out to a 6.0-liter displacement for 2006. Conventional Cadillac CTS models with a V-6 model are now presented with an available Sport Package.
