For 2005, luxury car maker Jaguar boldly treks into new territory with a product isolating practicality while still demonstrating the brand's stylish persona. The all-new 2005 X-Type sport wagon is based on the sedan offering greater rear cargo space and powered exclusively with a 3.0-liter V-6 engine. A new lengthened wheelbase version of the Jaguar XJ sedan has arrived for 2005. Based on a 124.4-inch long wheelbase, the XJ8L, Vanden Plas and Super V8 showcases greater rear seat interior room while the base trim model and XJR Supercharged is constructed on a shorter wheelbase frame. The Jaguar S-Type 4.2 sedan and the X-Type adds a new VDP (Vanden Plas) trim level for 2005 consisting of high-end interior appointments such as premium grade leather seats and the use of burl walnut veneers. On the 2005 model year XK8 grand tourer coupe and convertible, the front end features a restyled lower bumper assembly as well as revised side sills.
