For 2004, Lexus revamps its popular premium RX crossover. A longer vehicle that maintains the sleek but practical elements of the RX 300, the all-new 2004 Lexus RX 330 is propelled by a 3.3-liter V-6 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The new powerplant found in the RX 330 has also been installed in the Lexus ES for 2004. The new 2004 Lexus ES 330 enjoys 225 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. Mild changes have been made to the flagship Lexus LS 430 sedan with the addition of several features such as front passenger knee airbags and power rear sunshade. The 2004 LS 430 also operates with a new six-speed automatic transmission mated with its 4.3-liter V-8 engine. A tire pressure monitoring system is introduced to the GX 470 while a new optional Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System is also offered on the mid-sized sport utility vehicle for greater handling on various terrains. Limited to just 400 examples for 2004, a Pebble Beach edition of the Lexus SC 430 is identified with an Azure Pearl exterior paint color, rear spoiler and a special leather golf bag.
