For 2003, Volvo is starting a trek into new territory with the brand's first sport utility vehicle. Propelled by either a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine or a turbocharged six-cylinder, the XC90 arrives with two-wheel drive as well as four-wheel drive. The 2003 Volvo XC90 boasts roll stability control system and a lower center of gravity than other luxury sport utility vehicles for greater cornering security and rollover resistance. A turbocharged 2.5-liter engine has been introduced to both the S60 and V70 accompanied with all-wheel drive. With the premiere of the XC90, the all-weather Volvo V70 XC has been renamed the XC70. Available in a limited 100-vehicle release, the Volvo S80 T6 Elite adds the rear leg room, Executive Leather seating and Rear Seat Entertainment system.
