In a continuous effort to sell all-wheel drive technology as a valuable feature, Subaru's complete line-up features the drivetrain in a more advanced form for 2001. Subaru debuts new technology to complement the all-wheel drive system of their Legacy Outback. VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) now available on the Outback wagon operates as an anti-skid system for improved traction management. The Subaru Legacy line-up is further adjusted with the disappearance of the Brighton wagon and the introduction of the L.L.Bean Edition Outback wagon. Changes to the headlights, taillights and a chrome grille of the Subaru Forester details a mild refresh for 2001. With a redesigned Impreza expected in North America for the 2002 model year, Subaru has left the compact car line unchanged.
