Cat like reflexes continue to show from the British luxury car brand Jaguar in 2001. Returning to Formula 1 competition as a brand, Jaguar has issued a limited edition XKR Silverstone model for 2001. Sporting a 370-horsepower supercharged V-8 engine, unique touches added to the Silverstone model include a high gloss exterior finish, 20-inch BBS wheels and a modified suspension through a Performance Handing Pack. The 2001 model year S-Type sedan is now available with a Deluxe Communications Package that features a console-mounted call phone that offers voice-activated operations. All 2001 Jaguar S-Type models come standard with a reverse parking warning system. A Reverse Park Control and six-disc CD changer audio unit have become standard on all XJ sedans for 2001. On the Valden Plas version of the 2001 XJ, an Alpine sound system and redesigned alloy wheels are present.
With styling that is both exotic and elegant, the 2001 Jaguar XK8 roars into this model year available as a coupe or convertible with a choice between a naturally-aspirated V8 or one fitted with a supercharger.
