Geared towards modern, high-style luxury, Infiniti has battled in the luxury sedan marketplace since the brand's inception. The defining vehicle of the Infiniti brand, the first Q45 Sedan was a flagship four-door sedan with eight-cylinder power and interior comforts needed to compete against other elite premium sedans from established makes. Infiniti added a second entry-level sedan a year after the Q45 called the G20. As engine sizes grew, the G20 eventually transformed into the G35 and lastly the G37. Briefly an Infiniti G25 sedan was provided as an entry-level premium vehicle for the brand. Sleek, midrange Infiniti models presented in the 1990s included the J30 and I30 sedan powered by six-cylinder engine. In the 2000s, the Infiniti M level sedans would later take the role the mid-sized offering propelled by V-6 and V-8 engines. Starting in 2014, the letter ‘Q' gained significance with the sedan line-up as Infiniti introduced a new naming system resulting in the Q40, Q50 and Q70 sedan.
