The 2001 model year will be a pivotal period for South Korean auto maker Hyundai. A redesign of one of the brand's most important cars as well as two all-new products are 2001 highlights. An all-new 2001 Hyundai Elantra features a longer wheelbase as well as increased interior dimensions. European styling of the 2001 Elantra encapsulates standard features such as air conditioning and power windows. Hyundai is undertaking two all-new vehicle segments in the United States in 2001. Hyundai's first sport utility vehicle, the Santa Fe features compact proportions and available full-time four-wheel drive. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is standard on the 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe but an all-aluminum V-6 is optional. Wanting to be identified as a manufacturer of premium-quality vehicles, Hyundai's 2001 model strategy includes an all-new flagship sedan called the XG300. Billed as the most expensive Hyundai sold in the United States, the 2001 XG300 comes loaded with standard amenities such as air conditioning, keyless entry and side impact air bags. A rear spoiler is now included on all Hyundai Tiburon for 2001.
