For 2000, General Motors' maverick brand Saturn grows with the addition of a new flagship series model. Constructed to attract a mature family vehicle audience, the L-Series debuts in both sedan and wagon body styles. Derived from the European Opel Vectra, the 2000 Saturn L-Series line contains the brand's styling as well as trademark dent-resistant body panels. The Saturn L-Series sedan and wagon are the first Saturn vehicles to offer V-6 engine power. The existing Saturn SL sedan and SW wagon receive a substantial restyling for 2000 resulting in a longer overall thanks to a revised lower body. Inside the 2000 Saturn SL, SW and SC coupe, cars featured revised front seats as well as configured controls.
