Mercedes-Benz has developed an all-new version of their flagship S-Class sedan for 2000. Weighing less than its predecessor, the new S-Class adds improved safety equipment and features a standard navigation system. For the 2000 model year, AMG performance modifications will be made for the first time on a Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle. The ML55 AMG is powered by a 5.4-liter producing 342-horsepower and is presented with a full array of enhancements. The interior of the conventional M-Class sport utility vehicles is treated to a series of refinements. Featuring new door paneling as well as an available five-inch video display, standard wood trim and leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard on all Mercedes-Benz M-Class models for 2000. For 2000, a V-8 engine choice is now offered on the convertible as well as coupe version of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class. On Mercedes-Benz's flagship SL-Class convertible, an adaptive suspension system and heated seating are new options. The 2000 model year E-Class drops the diesel engine while Electronic Stability Program is extended to all variants of the mid-level car. Free scheduled maintenance is an added perk found with 2000 Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
