A law enforcement version of the Ford Crown Victoria, the 2000 Ford Police Interceptor is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 175 hp and 235 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission the Crown Victoria achieves an EPA estimated 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. New features consist of an updated grille and power adjustable pedals. The brakes on the Police Interceptor have been updated to aid in pursuit driving. 16-inch wheels and a heavy-duty frame/suspension rounds out the adjustments made to the Crown Victoria to make it law enforcement ready. Features include air conditioning, ballistic door panels, larger fuel tank, fire suppression system, and speed sensitive steering. Safety is comprised of multiple airbags, brake/shift interlock, and anti-lock braking. The Police Interceptor is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
