The 2000 Ford line-up is led by a new generation version of the Taurus and an all-new compact entry, the Focus. A world-class vehicle targeted as a replacement to the aging Escort, the Focus compact arrives in North America after a successful debut in Europe. A three-door hatchback, four-door sedan and a wagon are presented as body style choices for the all-new 2000 Ford Focus. The Ford Taurus sedan and wagon models are reshaped in a manner that tones down the heavily-rounded design details employed during the previous generation. Minor power and expanded trunk space is also present on the sedan version of the Taurus. The 2000 model year will be the final time the Ford Contour will be sold in the United States.
