The 2000 DeVille is exhibits a modern attempt at Cadillac's historic pursuit for innovations in luxury. Featuring a longer wheelbase, LED taillights and standard tri-zone climate control, the new Cadillac DeVille most-publicity gaining equipment item is an available Night Vision system. With the debut of the new DeVille, Cadillac has discontinued the Concours and d'Elegance. A high-end luxury DHS and touring-oriented DTS version of the 2000 DeVille fill the void left by the departing nameplates. In its third year part of Cadillac's line-up, the entry-level Catera sedan receives a significant upgrade. A refreshed front and rear end is found on the outside of the 2000 Cadillac Catera while standard side airbags are included inside. The Cadillac Eldorado personal luxury coupe enters 2000 with redefined trim levels. The ESC is the 2000 Eldorado's new base model while the ETC returns as a touring trim version. No major changes have occurred on the Seville or Escalade for the 2000 model year.
