A rugged yet stylish mid-size SUV, the 1999 Toyota 4Runner seats five passengers and is available with 2WD or 4WD. The base engine is a 2.7L four-cylinder which produces 150 hp/177 lb-ft of torque, and it is linked to a five-speed manual transmission. The SR5 and Limited trims come standard with a 3.2L V6 engine that produces 183 hp/217 lb-ft of torque and a four-speed automatic transmission. The 4Runner returns at least 20 mpg on the highway in all versions.
