Available in eight trims, the 1999 Subaru Legacy Wagon is a versatile and sporty mid-size four-door with seating for five and standard AWD. The base engine is a 2.2L horizontally-opposed four-cylinder which produces 142 hp and 149 lb-ft of torque. A larger 2.5L four-cylinder is also available, which generates 165 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic is also available
