Slotting above the Grand Am but below the Bonneville in size, the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix is a mid-size sports car that is available as a coupe or sedan. The Grand Prix has three available engines to choose from. The base SE trim is powered by a 3.1L V6 which produces 170 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. The GT trim uses a 3.8L V6 developing 200 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. The top of the line GTP is powered by a supercharged 3.8L V6 which makes 240 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. All versions use a four-speed automatic transmission and achieve at or near 30 mpg on the highway.
