Arriving in GX, GL and GLS trim levels, 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue began promoting itself as an upscale mid-sized sedan just one year ago. However, in only one year, the Intrigue is bracing for some considerable changes for 1999. Featuring the more prominent display of the Oldsmobile name on the exterior sections, the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue is also phasing in a new powerplant. First planned to roll-out on the high-end Intrigue GLS, 3.5 liter double overhead cam V-6 engine generates 215 horsepower while producing fuel economy of 19 miles per gallon city and 27 miles per gallon highway. GX and GL models appear to be continuing with the older 195 horsepower, 3.8 liter V-6 engine until sometime within this model year. A four-speed automatic transmission will manage both engines of the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The standard feature list of the 1999 Intrigue is quite hefty with power windows, 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, traction control and four-wheel anti-lock braking standard on all models. GL and GLS both receive dual-zone climate controls as well as power heated mirrors to the standard equipment listing of the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue.
