An all-new vehicle based on the new Oldsmobile styling DNA, the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero is introduced in either a two-door and four-door variety with each featured in GX, GL or GLS trim. Along the 186.7-inch long vehicle, the front-wheel drive 1999 Oldsmobile Alero has automatic headlamps, traction control and anti-lock braking system as standard exterior equipment. Inside of the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero finds air conditioning, dual 12-volt power outlets, power door locks as well as front and rear cup holders as standard on all models. The Alero GL adds cruise control and tilt steering while the GLS trim vehicles include a CD player to the audio system. Standard power on the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero GX and GL is a 150 horsepower, 2.4 liter inline-4 engine. For fuel economy, 1999 Alero models equipped with this engine achieve 26 miles per gallon through average driving. Optional on the GL but included on the GLS trim, the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero's 3.4 liter V-6 beats with 170 horsepower. 22 miles per gallon city and 27 miles per gallon highway is expected with the larger 1999 Alero V-6 engine. All Oldsmobile Alero with four and six-cylinder powerplants transmit energy through a 4-speed automatic transmission.
