Having undergone a mild redesign in 1998, the Isuzu Trooper enters the 1999 model year improving the four-wheel drive's premium creditability. With dual airbags, alloy wheels, power windows and locks included standard on all models, a host of optional equipment is included in two major packages identified as Performance and Luxury. On the Performance Package, the 1999 Isuzu Trooper adds optional fog lamps, 6-disc CD changer, rear passenger footrest and monotone paint. Meanwhile on the Luxury Package, power moonroof, heated leather seats and interior wood grain trim is outfitted convenience items to the Trooper. Added one year prior, the 1999 Isuzu Trooper is solely powered by a 3.5 liter V-6, 215 horsepower and 230 pounds-feet of torque propels the 1999 Trooper. Standard with a 5-speed manual transmission, a 4-speed automatic gearbox can be ordered in the 1999 Isuzu Trooper as an option. Fuel economy expectations with the 5-speed manual transmission is 15 miles city and 19 miles highway per gallon of gasoline. Included with the four-wheel drive system, a standard limited-slip differential assures drivers some additional traction over loose surfaces.
