A two-door modern muscle car, the 1998 Pontiac Firebird is available as a coupe or a convertible. The RWD Firebird is available with a choice between two engines. The base engine is a 3.8L V6 engine which produces 200 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque, and it is rated at 30 mpg on the highway. The more exciting engine is the 5.7L V8 which rumbles to 305 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque. The V6 comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission while the V8 receives a four-speed automatic as standard equipment.
