A sporty mid-size sedan, the 1998 Mitsubishi Galant has comfortable seating for five inside and is available in a range of trims; the DE, ES, or LS. The only available engine is a 2.4L four-cylinder which produces 141 hp and comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed automatic is optional on the DE and ES but is the only choice for the top-of-range LS. The Galant is rated at 30 mpg on the highway with the manual gearbox.
