For 1998, INFINITI's luxury product lineup consists of three vehicles. The INFINITI J30 has been dropped from the luxury vehicle line for 1998 leaving only the I30 sport sedan and the flagship Q45 sedan. An entry-level premium sedan built to introduce new buyers to the INFINITI brand, the mid-sized I30 adds several enhancements for 1998 including new color options. Completed redesigned in 1997, the INFINITI Q45 gains minor upgrades in the form of seat belt pre-tensioners with load limiters. Both the I30 and Q45 add front side airbags for 1998. Introduced in 1997 as INFINITI's first sport utility vehicle, the QX4 continues into the 1998 model year with standard All-Mode 4WD system influenced by a 168-horsepower 3.3-liter V-6 engine.
