Producing unique electric battery and solar-powered boats, Arizona-based marine company Solar Star attempted to revolutionize recreational boating. Focused around 21-foot vessels, Solar Star electric boats are low-speed watercraft designed suitably for inshore or lake travel. The efforts of the start-up marine company were derailed with the passing of Solar Star founder Louis T. Majors in 2010. Solar Star was declared closed in 2011.
