In 1838, the Schöchl family started as a cabinetmaker that would eventually set a benchmark for boat construction. Diversifying into sailboats in 1951, the European company first employed the Sunbeam name in the early to mid 1960s. Imported to the United States for the first time in 1983, Sunbeam sailboats were fiberglass-hulled and were available between 23 and 44 feet in length. Sunbeam yachts and sailboats employ high quality, handcrafted construction.
