Built under the Florida-based Gulf Stream Marine International company, the Compass Island Yachts brand was started in 1987. Producing a 25-foot fiberglass suited for cruising on the water, Gulf Stream/Compass Island Yachts were sold in several different variations including a tower cockpit. Gulf Stream/Compass Island Yachts are powered by inboard marine gasoline and diesel engines. Gulf Stream/Compass Island Yachts was officially declared out of business in 1993.
