Started in 1946 originally as a producer of wooden sailboats, Lippincott Boat Works was operated out of Riverton, New Jersey by brothers Howard and Robert. Quickly realizing the lightweight and flexibility of fiberglass construction, the material would formulate the hulls of all Lippincott Boat Works vessels after the 1950s. Building sailboats as small as 12 feet, Lippincott Boat Works largest sailing ships ranged to 36 feet. Lippincott Boat Works closed over 1986 leaving a mark on competitive sailing across the globe.
