With the Chrysler name best known in the auto industry, the United States company had actually been a fixture in the marine motor industry. Supplying boat engines since the 1920s, Chrysler entered the outboard motor market in 1965 after buying West Bend Outboards. Producing outboard motors until 1984, marine brand Force took over Chrysler’s business.
